Topic: Services to Recruit and Train Employees
In the current employment market it is important that employers explore all populations for talent. The Workforce Development Board of Herkimer, Madison & Oneida counties is funded by Federal and State allocations and grants to provide connections between employers, potential employees and training providers. We will be discussing 3 populations in particular (low income/skill, individuals with disabilities and those impacted by the Criminal Justice system). We want to provide appropriate training opportunities to our customers for the needs that exist now in the community. We want to provide referrals that fit employer needs and we want to ensure that we are providing information on available opportunities for funding, tax incentives and good counsel to our customers for a successful transition to work. There is no charge for our services.
Attendees will learn about opportunities to participate in educating training providers on new trends and needs in the workforce, benefits available to their company for hiring/training underserved population and programs/tools available to increase skills for current employees.
