NYS Sick Leave Carry Over

Are NYS employers letting employees carry over an unlimited amount of NYS Sick Leave or are you capping it at the amount employees can use in a year (i.e. 56 hours)?

I dont think we are able to cap carryover, but we can cap usage, which is how we handle it. You can limit their usage to 56 hours per year. So if they have 200 hours in their bank, they can still only use 56 hours of it per year. Sounds silly, but thats how the leave documentation reads.

We cap at 80 hours/yr total, inclusive of the 56 hrs.
