Salary Survey's

Posted by Theresa Jalowiec on Mar. 8, 2018  /   6

Besides Salary.com, does anyone have advice on a good source for salary survey data? We are considering putting pay-ranges in place and are concerned about finding good job matches specifically for the technical positions we have (Telecom technician, line-crew etc. Thank you!

Hi Theresa~ We have also been researching wages for our staff for the past 6 months. We have been using the DOl~ statistics for the Mohawk Valley and found it to be very helpful. We have been calling it a releveling of wages and not a pay raise as our employees are receiving different adjustments based on their position. So far we have had positive feedback from our staff. Good Luck!

I have checked payscale.com for several months now and seems to be very insightful.

Hi Theresa! A couple of years ago we purchased data from two companies, CompData and Hay Group. I had a recent discussion and demo with Payscale as well and they actually have a nice platform that you could use year round, along with managers. Seems like it would be a good tool to have all the time.

Theresa, Try MACNY out of Syracuse. They charge for a membership, but worth a look. Typically, you would need to purchase salary information that is industry specific, company size & location specific, which is what you wuold want to get the best information. It's not easy. Another source that you might want to try is BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) .these are Dept. of Labor stats. Good luck!
